The Freedom Art Gallery

My students need gallery hanging supplies including colored mattes and hanging hardware to create a student run art gallery of student art work within the high school.

My Students

Currently there is no art display space within our high school. My National Art Honor Society students and I want to create a gallery within our school that will showcase the wonderful sculpture, painting and other art pieces created by the student body.

I teach beginning through advanced AP students.

My students are very gifted artistically and have a tremendous love for the arts. Our high school is a suburban/urban school located near military bases. Our student body encompasses a wide range of socio/economic diversity.

My Project

My students will have the opportunity to participate in a school run art gallery "The Freedom Gallery". Currently we have no display space within the school to showcase the wonderful student art work created within the art department. This gallery will promote student art and allow my students to become docents and teach the rest of the student body about fine art. My students will learn how to hang art work in a gallery setting, hold an opening reception, advertise and promote art. As docents they will lead student groups through the gallery and have the opportunity to share and teach the importance of fine art. With budget cuts the arts are always first on the chopping block this gallery will bring art into the forefront and remind students, parents and administration of the importance to keep art in our students lives.

Your donations will allow my students to have the opportunity to become a true artist.

They will have the chance to have their art shown in the "Freedom Gallery" and showcased to the student body, parents and administration. By supporting this project you are giving us the chance to showcase the importance of the arts in education. This project will impact the entire high school in that the student body will be able to see and share in the art work created by their peers.
