My Students

Caution creative kindergarten writers are searching for fun and inviting materials to restock their writing center! Help us add fun new materials for these young creative writers. Our writing center is running low on a variety of materials for the students to enjoy at center times.

My kindergarten class is very culturally and economically diverse.

The school is a Title I school in Tennessee. A large portion of the school is on free or reduced lunch. We lack the funds for extra materials to equip the classroom. My students are very excited about learning and love center times. They enjoy creating, reading, playing, and singing. Students rotate through centers during the day. They love the writing center! it has many supplies for the to create pictures, write stories, build sentences, and play with words.

My Project

Kindergarten students enter the classroom eager to learn and explore the environment. My goal is to keep them actively engaged in their learning to promote a lifetime of learning opportunities. Adding a variety of fun and interesting materials to the writing center, will encourage students of all ability levels to write, draw, and create. Students love to use different tools to write with and materials to work with. Providing an inviting environment will allow student to grow as writers.

Our materials are running low.

Markers are drying out. Paper sources are diminishing fast. Restocking the writing center is very important to my students and myself. Making writing enjoyable at this young age will keep them on track to be successful writers in the upper grades. It will also increase the knowledge of working with language and expression. Using fun and inviting materials will reach those students that may not enjoy writing.
