My Students

Most people have a time line of their life. Looking at baby pictures and when something something was accomplished. Our students do not have many pictures of themselves. Reaching a goal and having photos to prove it!

In a fairly small public school K-2 there are 600 students.

Our ELL students are a wonderful group of 38. They are all ESL - English Language Learners. Most speak Spanish and Gujarati. Many have no English background. Yet, they come to school where they do not understand the language but are happy to be there. They are smart and can learn quickly.

My Project

My students need a camera and photo paper to capture themselves as they are now with their reading and writing skills and where they will be in months to come. These items will help in the students visually seeing themselves and their accomplishments. The timeline will be the purpose of meeting their goals. The vocabulary used in this project will increase their vocabulary, visual perspective, goals set and met, students will also learn the use of technology. This project will help these students learn life long skills and will produce a product that will remain with them.

This project is not only educational through academic vocabulary, but life long skills that are being introduced at an early age for students to become successful members of the community.

They will learn how to set goals, meet those goals and have the visual to see how they met the goals.
