This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Let us test our potential and kinetic energy!! We need to discover Newton's laws of motion through hands on experience. We would like to put our theories to the test.

I teach gifted and talented education for 3rd through 5th graders at a Title 1 school.

This means that over 80% of our students are on free and reduced lunches. The majority of our students are second language students. Due to tough times schools across our state have had their funding for supplies cut in half and most of our students rely on donations of backpacks and basic supplies from their teachers.

My Project

Through the donation of the K'nex roller coasters you will allow my students to have hands on materials to test out their theories. They will be able to conduct scientific problem solving activities while testing out Newton' laws of motion. They will explore kinetic and potential energy, inertia, and gravitational and centripetal forces while creating, designing, researching, and implementing their ideas.

Science sometimes is allowed to be placed on the back Bunsen burner.

With your generous donation, this will not be the case in my classroom. You are opening the door for my students to explore the possibility of going into the field of science. Instead of just riding the roller coaster, they may design it. Please give them that thrill.
