My Students

Do you know that "smell" when you open up an old library book? Well this is what our entire library smells like in the current double wide trailer that we are housed in.

We have almost five hundred students ranging from kindergarten to sixth grade.

Our library is currently in a trailer at the end of the campus. All of our inventory is in this trailer with most of it being outdated and in terrible condition. We have nothing to motivate these children to WANT to come to the library right now!

My Project

Providing new books for our students will help give them a reason to come to the library so we can help instill a love of reading. If they hear that NEW BOOKS have finally been given to our library, they will want to come look and see what they are.

I could only hope, as a media specialist, that I can do enough projects and fund raisers to help get new and nice books in the hands of our students.

Without any help from the state, we have no funds coming in. Thanks to Donorschoose.org, maybe we have a chance to get started in the right direction.
