My Students

I teach social studies to 112 energetic 5th graders who love to learn, and it is my job to provide opportunities for those students.

Math is such an important subject for kids.

They will need math skills for everyday life. However, with the push for students to learn more complex skills at a younger age, it seems there is no time for memorizing basic facts in class. It must be done at home. As a teacher, I want to provide my students with tools to not only help them learn the facts, but I want to make it fun so that students want to practice their math facts.

My Project

I have an amazing group of kids this year, but some students need extra practice to get these foundational math concepts. I would like to have enough Hot Dot pens and card sets to be able to give each child exactly what they need, the skill they need to work on, so that their practice time will be specialized to their math needs. I would like to be able to check these Hot Dot sets out to my kids so that they can practice at home and in our classroom.

Building this foundation of math facts will allow students to be able to understand more complex math concepts.
