This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A dollhouse without the dolls is not very exciting! Redecorating the home time after time can only go so far. The preschoolers need the dolls in order to make this dollhouse complete and explore new ways to interact with one another using this toy.

I teach Preschool in Illinois.

There are 20 students in each preschool classroom, 14 regular education students, and 6 students with special needs. 93% of our school is considered low-income and receives free or reduced lunches. The student body is 65% Latino, 30% African American, and 5% Caucasian. 8% of the population is considered Limited English Proficient.

My Project

Providing the children with the dolls for their dollhouse will encourage them to use communication and social interaction skills with their peers. Through play, children are constantly pushed to increase their socialization skills by interacting with those around them. Having the dolls will encourage them have pretend conversations with one another, which will in turn support their communication, interaction, and speech development skills.

Your help with ensure that my students have more enjoyable and engaging experiences while learning social interaction and communication skills through play.

You will make it possible for them to easily access fun, dramatic play materials, and work individually or with a group to experiment with these toys. With your generous support, the students will be more successful during this crucial time of learning. Thank you so much!
