My Students

I am a middle school resource teacher with licenses to teach both reading and language arts. My students are working hard to improve their reading and writing skills before entering high school to give them the chance to earn a diploma and possibly attend college.

My middle school students are in a high-poverty school district.

They come to school with little supplies. They willingly admit that they do little to no reading or writing outside of the school setting. This makes every minute in my class vital to their success. Since they lose items once taken out of the room, I have created a writing center where writing prompts we are working on in class can be housed. Students have repeatedly thanked me for this center since work they have started can be continued from one class to the next allowing them to truly develop into proficient writers.

My Project

My students need additional binders and page protectors for our writing center to protect and organize their various writing prompts. This system allows for samples to be available to students to utilize when writing, as well as safely storing the current writing prompt that we are working on in class.

By providing my students with these resources, you will be allowing them to progress in their writing development.

This will increase their chances for success in high school and allow them the opportunity to attend college. Your generosity will open up more doors in their futures!
