My Students

When Dr. Seuss wrote “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go," he must have had my students in mind. As they begin classes at our new charter high school, they will be exposed to many opportunities in the health care field.

It is good news that close to 97% of the freshman class are Latino.

Why? Because we focus on college readiness/success and health care careers, which will help fulfill the growing need for bi-lingual health care professionals. With the help of potential donors, we can build the next generation of productive Americans.

My Project

Reading non-fiction articles helps students prepare for college success. Every week, our students are expected to find current event articles to read and respond to in writing. Many of these students come from homes that are not rich in appropriate reading material. A subscription to this magazine will give my students plenty of content from which to choose.

Providing a subscription to Weekly Readers' Current Health 2 magazine will contribute to a new generation of bi-lingual health career workers.
