My Students

Give girls a voice! Open our eyes! Currently, we have a projector, but cannot use this until we have a d document camera to attach to the projector. Having a document camera will allow students to display their work immediately, therefore, promoting class discussions.

My students are mostly African American females.

I work in an all girls school that is trying to promote women entering into the fields of math and science. Most of my students live in poverty and come from low income families. Everyday, I work hard to challenge my students one way that will help me to accomplish this task and it will be to have a document camera. This will let me display student work in an easy way to promote discussion and thought within the classroom.

My Project

I am requesting a document camera. This will allow students to display their actual work on their paper or on a test. Students do not have to re-write their work on a transparency for the entire class to see. Having this technology will help students to display their work immediately.

This project is important because students learn from each other.

By having this ELMO document camera students can readily display their ideas, strategies, or mistakes for other students to learn from and talk about.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
