My Students

Click! An image is captured! I believe the easiest place for teachers and students to begin experimenting with creating and publishing content other than text is with digital photography.

I teach 28 fourth graders in a large, urban public school.

My students are a diverse group, including students in special education and English Language Learners. Many are visual learners, who learn best when interacting with visuals, and are united in their love for technology. I want to bring the technology skills they use at home into the classroom. Our classroom is full of excitement, but we currently have no digital cameras!

My Project

Using the Panasonic digital cameras and the technology we have access in the classroom, we will be able to go far beyond simply capturing images. We will be able to put our pictures on the Web and share them with global audiences. We will be able to cobble together virtual field trips to teach those who are out of the area about what we are learning. We will be able to illustrate poetry, document our school work, and do so much more. When our images are captured, we will be able to annotate them and comment on them. These Panasonic digital cameras will be invaluable classroom tools.

Your donation will ensure that all students in my class have access to technology and learn the skills necessary to compete in our ever-changing world.
