My students need a classroom set of 30 German-English Dictionaries to use throughout the school year for a variety of class projects as well as daily work in German I.

My Students

Save teenage brains from having to share and work overtime in German I with only 5 classroom German-English dictionaries. Yes, their textbooks have a dictionary but not thorough with parts of speech, multiple definitions, and extra information. Helfen Sie jetzt!!!

My students are mostly middle class 9th graders with their first true exposure to a foreign language and as a whole they are excited.

They would tell you they do not need dictionaries but the first time we have a class activity and groups of 5 students share 1 dictionary they will agree. I don't think too many people get excited about wanting/buying dictionaries but it will make their lives easier and allow them to collaborate.

My Project

These German-English dictionaries will open the doors to more German words, parts of speech, phrases, gender and abbreviations. It will make activities more efficient and easier as currently there are only 5 falling apart German English Dictionaries for 5 German I classes ranging in size from 25-28. It will be one of many windows to help open students' minds to the world of the German language.

Bitte! You will impact students' lives now and years to come as well as my teaching life in an introductory German I class. This is not a gift that will be used once but regularly throughout the school year and years to come until those dictionaries fall apart from a lot of TLC!
