My students need 15 gloves to play softball.

My Students

My school is reintroducing softball this year at the urging of many female students. This will be the first time most of the girls have ever played softball. Our athletic department supplies bats, balls and bases but the girls are responsible for gloves and most just can't afford them.

These girls are from low income households with little opportunities available to them.

The high school they attend is often a good escape from the stresses of their home life. They are very spirited and are looking forward to representing their school in this inauguration year of softball.

My Project

We are requesting some softball gloves for the girls' softball team. We need these gloves to practice and play softball. These gloves will be used for many years, allowing many young women to build teamwork skills while having fun playing softball.

This gift would provide an opportunity for young women to get exercise, relieve stress, learn a new sport and make friends for many years to come.

After all, it hurts to catch a fast-pitched softball bare-handed!
