Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Sometimes we all just have to face reality and say, "You can't always get what you want." This we all know. However, "If you try, you get what you need!" My students NEED hands-on materials to fully understand keep concepts in math, and I am going to try and get it for them....with your help!!!

I love my students, and I am honored each year to be a part of these special kids lives.

There is a reason these kids are in my class....and for that I want to honor them by doing everything I can to provide them with the BEST educational tools that they need to succeed. Within our area, sometimes education is not promoted as well as survival is within the home setting. I want to provide that safe haven for these future leaders to grow, flourish, and recognize the power to succeed within themselves. These materials will provide that success!

My Project

I believe in direct teaching, but I also believe in the power of a small group. I can work in small groups, with children based on their skills, with the materials you can help provide. I am praying that we get the vital supplies that we need to teach tough concepts such as geometric shapes and real world word problems. These manipulatives I am requesting will let my students get that hands-on experience that a worksheet just cannot provide! Within these small groups I can help children based on their needs, and I can see right away the areas they are succeeding in and the areas we can focus on. To see the "ah-ha" moment is one of the many "perks" of the job. I can see when a child truly masters a skill and then they can apply it in their lives forever. I take that responsibility very seriously and these tools can help us reach MANY "ah-ha" moments!!

YOU can give these students the power of knowledge and the power to seek for more. You do not have to teach to change the lives of children. There are so many ways to do it! Here is one way to help teachers who know what their students need to succeed.
