Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Experiencing the birth of an animal is something that many children don't have the chance to experience. Through this project all my students will be able to share that.

My students are a motivated and inquisitive group.

They attend a local charter school. They enjoy learning and are always up for a new experience. They especially love hands on learning activities and science experiments. Please help me give my students what they need.

My Project

My students need supplies like an egg candler, thermometer, chick feed to incubate and hatch chickens and books and a poster to learn about chickens. I have successfully completed this project the past several years. My incubator and brooder need some updates to be the most effective. Additional books and learning materials will help the students gain knowledge in an interactive manner, which is more effective than reading a textbook.

Being able to experience the life of a chicken from egg to chick is a fascinating experience for students.

They are able to interact with the eggs and chicks. This helps foster a love of science and learning.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
