Modern Day Slavery?

My students need 70 copies of "The Road of Lost Innocence: The True Story of a Cambodian Heroine".

My Students

How can you change the world if you don't know what's happening in it? Well, the answer to that question is simple, you can't. My students are world changers and I want to give them the tools necessary to make the difference in our society that they are capable of.

My students come from various ethnic and family backgrounds.

Many are from broken homes, have lived with abuse, and are struggling financially--however, they don't let these obstacles hold them back. They are fierce and talented, and want to make a difference in the world!

My Project

I am requesting a book on human trafficking in order to teach my students that this issue exists in the world today. While their lives are challenging (more challenging than most teens in the USA today) they certainly are lucky to live in the United States and have the choices/possibilities that are open to them. I want our classroom to experience what it must be like to live without those possibilities--for them to see that slavery STILL exists and how we can attempt to right this wrong by being informed citizens that want to take action.

Please help my teens experience this tough subject through this uplifting work that calls us to action and hope as we strive to think outside of ourselves and make a difference in the world that we live in.
