My students need CD's, books, and headphones, with a LCD TV to watch phonics videos that supplement our reading program.

My Students

WE CAN READ!! We just do not have the proper materials to help foster our abilities.

My students are a bright and fun group of boys and girls who attend a charter school in LA geared toward academic excellence.

They are not excluded or counted out because they have disabilities. Their school embraces diversity and gives them every opportunity the other students receive.

My Project

We are requesting a TV, CD's, books, headphones, and phonics cards. These materials will be used to supplement the intensive direct instruction reading program. Students will be able to have read-alongs with the CD's, books, and headphones. The TV will be used to watch and interact with phonics DVDs during lessons. The students will use the phonic cards as a fun way to self-correct when practicing phonemic awareness skills.

Most special needs students are not provided with materials geared toward their individual ability levels. Federal funding does not provide schools with separate money for these children. No Child Left Behind should also include adequate funding to insure that students with disabilities will not be left behind, but given every opportunity and materials needed for success.
