My Students

Why did the chicken cross the road?...to get away from the clutter in our classroom! We're using a fantastic new literacy program this year, but we are running out of space to organize everything. The kids need organization so we can implement this program the way it should be implemented!

My students are kindergartners that attend a suburban school outside of a major city.

We have a diverse student body - most of which come from middle or working class families. My five and six year old students come in to school like sponges - ready to absorb all that I have to teach them. I'm so excited about the new program that we are using, and I want the students to get the most out of it.

My Project

We are using a new Literacy program in my classroom this year. It's a great program called The Daily 5 and it promotes a love to reading and writing in all of the students. My kindergartners will be working on building stamina when it comes to reading and writing. This program also helps them to become independent and organized students. We lack sufficient storage for the materials that go with this program. It seems counterproductive to be teaching them about organization and independence when our materials aren't properly organized to begin with. The kids would greatly benefit from their own book box so that all of the materials that they need are in one spot.

These organizers would be such a great help.

We are struggling to stay organized. I want to make sure that I'm setting a good example for my students by running an organized classroom. The materials that accompany our new literacy program require more storage than I currently have available. I want my students to be able to use the Daily 5 program the way it's intended to be used. We would benefit so much from these storage solutions! Thank you so much for your help!
