My Students

Have you ever had to sit and watch something on a screen when it would have been so much better to have your own computer to work on. My students have to work on this new program and they also have to type a portfolio that is required for graduation. They need computers to be able to do this.

My students are a part of the Exceptional Children Program.

They are in the Occupational Course of Study program. They range from grades 9 thru 12. There are 30 students in our program. Most of the students are from low income households, live with only one parent and some do not even know one one of their parents. They do work hard to complete all their requirements for graduations.

My Project

The students only have two computers in my classroom to type on. It would make things so much more productive to have 2 more computers that the students could utilize. They would also be able to follow along with their online teacher instead of just watching him/her on a large screen. By the students having their own computer, they would be more interested in what they are studying and will be a more activity learner.

This is so important to my students to be able to complete their portfolio and increase their technology skills by having their own computer to work on.

They will also use the computer for a new Virtual Classroom Program. They will have an online teacher and a classroom teacher with this program. By having a computer of their own, they will not have to watch on a big screen and will be able to interact with their online teacher on their own computer.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
