My Students

Have you ever taken a science course without the use of equipment to help support your understanding? My physics students are faced with this every day!!!

I have wonderful students who each have a great desire to excel in school.

Unfortunately, they attend a high needs school in NYC that does not get much of the necessary funding to support our students in the classroom. It is a shame that we can not buy necessary classroom materials to support their incredible desire to learn and succeed. My wish is to give them the very best education.

My Project

It really is amazing to see how my students respond when I introduce a new science apparatus into the classroom. It's almost magical. They immediately become more inquisitive and want to understand concepts with much more detail. These photo-gates will to do just that. It will allow my students to conduct numerous physics investigations as they relate to multiple theoretical concepts such as gravity, velocity, and acceleration to name a few. Having photo-gates is a foundational piece of equipment without which other experiments could not be performed. This photo-gate will allow my students to conduct experiments in topics such as dynamics, kinematics, wave motion, and conservation of momentum and energy.

Overall, these photo-gates will allow my students to conduct numerous physics investigations throughout the school year.

A hands on approach to learning physics is a must and these photo-gates will provide a means for doing it.
