My Students

An effective leader needs to be organized. The students in my Leadership Classes have multiple projects occurring during a semester. They struggle with juggling more than one project at a time. Wall calendars displaying an entire semester will help tremendously.

My Leadership Class students are by far the most creative group of student leaders I have ever worked with.

Our school is located in a low income, rural community. My students have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity. They will be creating and hosting our state's Student Council convention in the Fall of 2011. The creation of this convention will allow my students to grow as leaders and grow as individuals.

My Project

The creation and hosting of a state convention feels daunting at times. My students are preparing for 2000 student leaders from across our state to be on our high school campus for three days in the Fall of 2011. My students have to plan for every detail of the convention: from activities and program, to housing and meals. Organization will truly be the key to the success of our convention. The purchase of these dry erase wall calendars will allow my students to be well aware of the multiple deadlines that are associated with such an enormous task.

The preparation of a three-day convention will allow my students to become better leaders, and in turn be motivated to attempt other tasks that may seem out of their reach such as college.
