Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We need to move our bodies and let our muscles develop! My students work hard in the classroom and need to have a recess and physical education time that is filled with fun.

My students are eager fourth graders.

They are the most enthusiastic and energetic group I have ever had and it is difficult to contain them indoors! They love recess and would like to get out daily to run, play and exercise. Many of my students come from poor immigrant families and cannot afford organized sports. I want to help them develop the skills for sports and stay healthy.

My Project

Our classroom would love to have balls and games to play during recess and physical education time. My students will be able to enjoy recess outdoors an a daily basis after working hard in the classroom. They will be exercising their bodies as well as having fun with these outdoor resources. Students will be able to learn basic skills for many sports and enjoy the feeling of being fit and successful.

Skills that are developed in early childhood will strongly impact the students and make a huge difference by providing them with an outlet to exercise and play while working all the muscles in their bodies.

More importantly,they will become their own advocates in staying healthy and fit.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
