Helping Hands

My students need 20 different knitting looms and yarn to create hats for a local children's hospital.

My Students

Do you remember how good you felt when you did something for another person? I want to share that feeling with my students.

We are located in a high poverty area.

Many of these students have gone through so much in their young lives. Situations that I don't want to think about. These children are our future, they are bright and excited to explore new things. They are strong, resilient and can accomplish positive learning to help them break the cycle and live their dreams!

My Project

One thing that I want to do is help the students to see that there are other children out there that have problems just as bad or worse than their own. I want the students to understand that even though they are young, they can still make a difference in the lives of other people. We can do this by making knitted hats for children that are in a local children's hospital.

With your help, these students will be able understand that by doing something for other people makes them a better person.

By thinking about other people, they will be less self-centered and more caring.
