My Students

Won't you help bring the world to my kindergarten class? I am blessed to teach in a supportive and cooperative, but very rural, high need community. We have limited resources and many of our parents, while they would like to be able to, find it a hardship to pay for Time For Kids for their students.

My kindergarten class includes regular education as well as special education and special needs students, who thrive on learning about their world.

Living in a rural, low income area, my students may not get many opportunities to travel, read about, or explore the world.

My Project

We need a class subscription to Time for Kids news magazine. Reading and sharing Time For Kids at school, and at home with their parents, will bring the world to each of my students in an age appropriate, high interest format. Through this quality news magazine, my students will be introduced to current nonfiction reading and will share in an exciting tool for building early literacy skills.

This project will provide my class with their first real "newspaper." For many,it will be their first experience with learning about our big world!

It is my hope that, if my kindergarteners learn about people, places, and events in the news, it will create a real interest and lifelong love of learning about their world.
