My Students

Do you remember your first dollhouse? Maybe you always wished for one. Well let's make this wish come true for a class of wonderful pre-kindergarten students. They will be so excited to have this dollhouse and the other dramatic play materials added to our Dramatic Play Center.

The students that I serve come from a highly impoverished urban center.

All of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Many of my students live in homes where one or more families share the residence. Our community is still lacking sufficient housing, health and educational facilities. Five years later we are still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Katrina.

My Project

They will enjoy many hours during the school year working together, pretending, and communicating with each other.Through role play they will learn how different families interact and communicate with each other. They will learn through role playing that a strong family will always try to work together.

I am asking for this dollhouse and the other dramatic play materials, so my students can expand their imaginary world as well as building learning skills of communication and interacting.This would be an opportunity they might not ever get in life.

They will remember having a dollhouse in pre-kindergarten for many years to come.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
