My Students

Do you remember what it was like to sit in a hard chair and desk all day? Uncomfortable and no fun! Please give my scholars a nice comfy place to sit and enjoy reading.

I am a fourth grade literacy teacher in an urban area.

I decided to teach in an urban area because I believe in closing the achievement gap and creating an environment where my scholars feel safe, comfortable, and motivated to learn. These bean bags will help to create just that type of space!

My Project

The bean bags I am asking for will help create a comfortable and colorful environment in my classroom library where students can cuddle up with a good book and feed their love of reading. Our scholars are given at least 30 minutes each day to read. During that time I allow my scholars to pick a place in the classroom to read. These bean bags will help my scholars have a nice soft place to sit and read.

In order to instill a love of reading in my scholars I feel that it is important that they have a special place to enjoy a good book.

These bean bags will give my scholars that necessary space.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
