My Students: Do you remember how boring school text book stories were? My students need something interesting to get them excited about reading.

My students are in a poorer part of Texas who do not always have access to newspapers and Internet and therefore do not always learn about current events and important topics. Having access to TIME magazine will give them access to important information.

My Project: These magazines will help my students learn more about current events and past event that are important to know about. This will also help them get better at reading by giving them fun things to read about. Finally, this will help get them excited about reading.

This is so important to get 5th graders excited about reading and help them get better at reading. They need to pass a state reading test to go to 6th grade and reading about exciting things will help make them better readers! hide»
