My Students

It really is true that all you ever need to know you learn in kindergarten. In order to accomplish this in a short period of time, we need to use all of our senses in learning process. That requires a lot of different kind of supplies in order to teach these little learners.

Kindergarten is unique in so many ways.

Kindergarten is the foundation of all learning. Most importantly kindergarten is where you learn to love to learn and you learn that you CAN learn! In order to teach in a developmentally appropriate way we need to have fun while we learn. This requires a lot of hands-on visual material. Unfortunately with school budget cuts and teacher pay cuts, purchasing these much needed materials is difficult if not impossible.

My Project

The letter-of-the-day pocket chart and the ration timer will be used every day. The charts will be on the wall the whole year and will be used at our rug time to visually reinforce the concepts taught that day. The hands-on materials, such as foam number and letter stamps and stencils, will be available for all 52 of my students to use while in center time. I have also asked for art resources that could reinforce number and letter sense while having fun painting. Can you imagine being in kindergarten but not having paint to paint with or paper to paint on? Unfortunately with budget cuts this is the reality. That is why I ma asking for paint supplies.

I love seeing the joy in a child face as they learn an new concept and realize that they can accomplish anything they put their mind to. I am asking for your help in this commitment to these young students. Without your generous contributions these resources will not be available to my students.
