This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember when you caught lightning bugs outside on a hot summer night? Do you remember how amazing it was to see these little bugs light up the night sky? Now imagine a classroom full of students amazed and lighting up to read!

My students come from humble homes.

They live in an urban capital city during a tough economy. Unfortunately, public education is always on the chopping block during budget cuts. But the beat must go on! My students keep coming to school with as much (if not more) energy than I do!

My Project

I want to inspire my students. I want to keep them wondering. I want to keep them engaged and enthusiastic for reading. Nonfiction books will definitely keep my students engaged and excited to read with the eye-popping photographs and new found knowledge. They need exposure to life outside their neighborhood, and nonfiction books will definitely bring it!

You can help bring real life experiences into my classroom.

Nonfiction books will expose my students to animals, life cycles, weather, and more! You can help my students wanting to read more and wondering what else they can read about the world around them.
