My Students

Have you ever looked at photos from when you were a child? How about photos of you with your classmates? My students love to have their photos taken, what a great memento this would be!

I teach 1st and 2nd graders in Northern CA.

We are a public PreK-5 school. The neighborhood they come from is very quiet and family-oriented. Some students come from stable families, but many do not. We have many families in poverty or near poverty due to the recent job loss in our local economy.

My Project

With a digital camera, I will be able to document their entire school year instantly without remembering to bring my camera. We have SMART boards installed, and I will be able to instantly show their photos. We do various art, writing, and science projects. In the spring, they will be able to take these photos home and share with their families. My students will learn that documenting events are important to life.
