My Students

Math can be a scary subject for students in school. Having these hands-on activities in our classroom can make Math fun while learning skills for everyday life.

The students in my classroom are in the 2nd and 3rd grade.

They have been diagnosed with Mild Intellectual Disabilities. The students in this classroom need individualized instruction and a small classroom setting in order to be successful in school. 95% of the students at the school are on free or reduce breakfast/lunch. That means most of the students are from low-income homes.

My Project

At-My-Seat Math Games will make practicing the student’s math skills fun and easier. Since each pack includes hands-on materials students can start building essential math skills without ONLY using paper and pencils. This resource will also allow me to have extra time to help students who need more one-on one instruction. Most importantly this wonderful resource hits all the Math standards in time and money, problem solving and geometry, graphing and recording data, number sense and operations, fractions and place value and estimation and measurement.

At-My-Seat Math Games Library will have a strong impact on my students because it will be something that can do independent.

Students love to show what they can accomplish and particularly students with special needs.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
