My Students

Recess! Recess! Students love recess. Teachers take students outside to practice gross motor skills. What do they do when the slide is full? What do they do when they lack social skills? They stand around and do nothing!

My Kindergarten students are eager to learn.

Most of the students are from low economic families. Many are learning English for the first time. Our school, like many others, has a very small budget. Our main focus is usually classroom items. We do not have a PTA or PTO to request items from.

My Project

Jump batons, hula hoops and playground balls will encourage running, hopping, jumping and skipping. The more students can exercise the better. Some of the items can be done alone. When students get that necessary exercise outside, then they are ready to learn when they return to the classroom.

Childhood obesity is a term we hear on the news.

It is not just in the news, it is on my playground! Children need more exercise on a daily basis. The items I am requesting are fun and encourage movement.
