My Students

Have you ever wondered what colors are in a Monet sunset? Or how many stars are in The Starry Night by Van Gogh? As you have intrigue so do my students. They desire to have the tools and resources at their finger tips for creative and fun exploration.

My students are in a rural Michigan city near one of the large metro cities.

They are active and bright students who enjoy the outdoors, exploratative assignments, and anything that will grip them through to completion. The school is a loving school that wants to provide all things to help students become life-long learners. The problem is that with the economy and money troubles, some "extras" are limited hindering active learning.

My Project

My students love to see artistic masterpieces and use the ideas within famous paintings to create their own unique designs. The trouble is that there is not enough student-friendly storage available to make the art accessible to the students all the time. Usually one piece is displayed at a time and ignored by some because of lack of interest. The storage units will put art into the hands of the students and allow all students to find the style they enjoy. My students will learn to appreciate and value more art history then I can provide in a year and on a more personal level of interest.

I truly believe artists learn by being immersed in the creativity of other artists.

The accessibility to art masterpieces will heightened student understanding and promote a deeper creative outlook for the students. They will have a chance to enter a "museum" of masterpieces without leaving the classroom.
