My Students

What better way to teach responsibility and compassion than with a cute and furry friend?

I have an entire classroom full of curious, excited, and thoughtful second graders.

With various levels of economic and academic abilities, they do have one thing in common: kids LOVE animals. They would love the opportunity to care for and learn about another living creature.

My Project

With the materials I am asking for, my students will be able to love and care for a classroom hamster. This will not only teach the students responsibility but will provide students with an opportunity to read authentic reading material based on their interest in learning about their classroom pet.

Thank you for the opportunity to impact my students lives in not only an academic way but in a very personal way as well.

I believe that by giving them the this opportunity, we will be creating more caring and responsible citizens.
