My Students: My students require seating pillows to help them maintain their boundaries. During morning meeting or read aloud, they are always moving around and invading the space of others. This causes major arguments and distractions.

I teach bright, inquisitive students, ages 7-9, that have been diagnosed with Autism. They attend a year-round school program that helps them gain important academic and life skills. My students are very social and aware of what goes on around them, but they still need structure and boundaries to help them succeed.

My Project: These pillows will increase learning for my students during meeting times and read aloud. The students will have a visual of their own space, and be able to focus more on the lessons being presented. They will not have to worry about someone coming into their space and in turn becoming distracted. These pillows will also give sensory input to my students who need it. They will be able to wiggle around, yet maintain focus.

Your support of this project will allow my students the visual boundaries and sensory input they need to sit still and maintain focus during meetings and read aloud. You will be maximizing the amount of learning within the classroom. hide»
