My Students

Do you remember what it was like to be eager to see something you are learning about, but couldn't because someone was sitting in front of you? My students enjoy viewing reading activities online, but they have to look at a single student computer to view the lesson online.

I teach at a Title school in Indiana that has limited resources due to recent cutbacks in our school corporation.

I currently teach second grade and my class really enjoys any technology we use as most of my students do not have access to a computer at home. I would really like to allow my students to be able to do more activities that they can view on a screen and interact with the lessons projected on the screen. This will also allow my Spanish speaking students another avenue to learn as well.

My Project

My students need a multimedia projector that hooks up with the Internet to view many online learning activities. If I have a projector that had the capability to connect with the Internet, my students can view lessons on a screen rather than have an auditory lesson. They would be able to interact with online activities such as viewing sentences with pictures for a vocabulary lesson or do math facts and science activities using the mouse to click on an answer. This would be a welcome change from regular pencil and paper work.

My students will benefit from multimedia technology they have at their fingertips.

They will be able to interact with online activities in another avenue that is modern and up to date. This will allow my students a "voice" in their learning.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
