My Students

Help us visualize our success! My class needs an easel so that they can learn not only by hearing, but by seeing as well!

I teach twenty beautiful first graders in a moderate-poverty Texas school.

My students come from all walks of life. When they enter our classroom, all differences are set aside as their love and excitement for learning unite them. Over the course of the year, I watch them flourish as readers, writers, and- most importantly- thinkers.

My Project

I am requesting a chart stand with a large dry erase board attached. This chart stand will revolutionize whole-group instruction in my classroom. I will write and draw on the chart stand to support learners visually during direct instruction. I will use the hanging hooks on the chart stand to display poems and sort phonics word cards interactively. Lastly, I will take advantage of the magnetic board to build word families and high-frequency sight words with my class. During center time, small groups of children will go to the chart stand to read poetry and build words with magnetic letters. In addition, the storage tray on the bottom of the stand will hold a wealth of language arts materials for children to explore, from pointers to personal marker boards.

I implore you to help make this project a reality for my classroom.
