Too bad we cannot get free refills on ink cartridges like a fountain drink. Our school needs help to replenish the ink in our library printer that is shared by all students. This will help us complete papers and projects planned in all subject areas. As part of a cost-cutting solution, the 5th grade will join our school which formerly served only 6th through 8th grades. Our 2010-2011 student population will grow from approximately 150 to 210 students. Computer literacy is an integral part of our curriculum. With the addition of the 5th grade, our printing load will increase significantly. All students share use of the color printer when they work on class projects in the library media center throughout the school year, and we do not have a reserve supply of ink to replenish what we will use. My Project: With your help, students will be able to complete the following projects: pet rock, rock classification, famous scientist projects, poetry books, figurative language books, story quilts, reading test reports, math test reports, multimedia presentations, research papers, organism alphabet books, lab pictures, autobiographies, brochures, "state" projects, time travel projects, and creative writing papers. The educational benefits of creating these projects include: computer skills (using Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, and keyboarding), research and information, writing process with different modes and forms of writing, and grammar, usage, and mechanics. Additionally, these projects allow teachers to meet required PASS objectives for their classes. Finally, they provide students a “hands on” approach to learning; as a result, students have something to show for their efforts. Please consider this request for the purchase of ink cartridges to allow our middle school students the educational success that they deserve. The budget may be cut this year but that doesn't mean that the quality of education must be too!!! hide» My students need ink for the Middle School library printer to print projects and papers out during the school year. details»
