This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Can you imagine a table that is interactive and responds with only a touch? I would love to offer my students the latest technology.
I teach 5 year-old Kindergarten in rural South Carolina.
My students are bright and inquisitive. We are a Title One school with 93% of Kindergarten students receiving free/reduced lunch. Our school was featured on South Carolina's ETV's "Corridor of Shame." All of our funds for this school year have been frozen.
My Project
My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds. Many do not have necessary resources available to them at home. Most do not have a home computer or Internet access.
They love the technology we use in the classroom. Due to District budget shortfalls, we are unable to purchase the newest technology that these students so desperately need.
In such a competitive society, the less fortunate will struggle to keep up.
Within six months, many new gadgets are obsolete. The beauty of the SMART Table, is that it will always remain current and useful. It has endless opportunities for learning and prepares students for any career they may choose. It has lessons which teach across the curriculum through TEAMWORK.
The SMART Table is definitely well worth the price!
