My Students

One of my students turned to me a few weeks ago and said "This is what I want to do with my life. I want to be a Graphic designer." The only issue is that we don't have an apple computer. I am not asking for an entire lab, just one machine for them to learn and explore.

The computer would be used in the PORTFOLIO class.

A class reserved for 12 grade seniors to prepare themselves for art school. Our school is one building K-12, and we only have about 70 students per grade. Students at the school range from professor's children to local farm families. There is even a large population of students that migrated from Africa.

My Project

The apple computer comes with numerous free and quality programs that will inspire and prepare students. Apple's iLife programs include iphoto, a fabulous photo editing program, and imovie a video editing program. Our school has the license for Adobe and its family of products so our students will be able to use them as well.

During these tough economic times, it is unfortunate that a student will be passed over opportunities because of a district of state's budget crisis.

It is the teacher's job to help students reach their potential and seek out anything that can help prepare them for the years ahead. Your donation will have a big impact on these students and will never forget the essential skills they learned that prepared them for college.
