We've Got The Write Traits!

My students need the grade one Trait Crate to help develop writing skills in the six areas of writing to influence their development as readers and writers.

My Students

"You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what's burning inside you" said Arthur Polotnik help the students in my classroom communicate what lies in their hearts and minds.

This will be my first year teaching first grade in a high poverty school in Oklahoma.

My school has selected writing as an area to focus on during the next three years. The children in my classroom are energetic but need lessons that engage and capture their attention. They need to see that writing serves a meaningful purpose both through listening to stories and writing their own.

My Project

The trait crate includes books for 'read alouds' that focus on a specific trait such as voice, organization, ideas and content, conventions, sentence fluency, and word choice. Lessons are included that correlate to the focus trait to engage students in their writing.

With your donation you will help us focus on the write traits.

We will become communicators by putting our thoughts on paper and tell a story learning that writing is meaningful and serves a purpose.
