My Students

"Say Cheese!" is what my students will be doing with their new cameras. Many of my students have never been able to touch or use a digital camera. I want to give them the opportunity to use something that will help them the rest of their life.

I work at a title one school in Nebraska, which means that my students come from poverty.

Many of my students receive free breakfast and lunch because their parents can not afford to buy them lunch. I have two digital cameras right now and my students love them. They will take pictures and then print them off and write about the pictures.

My Project

Many of my students have a hard home life and I want to make their experience in my classroom one that can enjoy and will remember. The digital cameras will allow the students to take pictures of what they want and then print them off. They can write about the pictures or make posters. This gets my students really excited about writing.

This is important to help my students form a love for school and writing.

My students will take pictures of objects or people that are close to them and mean something. That way when they are writing they are really motivated to write.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
