My Students: What would it be like to take an adventure on the Amazon River or meet a Ninja? Or, how about spending an afternoon pretending you're on the moon or back in the ice age meeting sabertooth tigers and woolly mammoths. With the Magic Tree House series, my students can do exactly that!

My second grade students live in an urban area, and unfortunately, many come from homes where there is little literature for them to read. Last school year we received sets of boxed Magic Tree House books thanks to wonderful donors on DonorsChoose.org. The children very much enjoyed reading the books. In fact, I found myself not having enough books to go around! A wonderful dilemma,but a dilemma nevertheless!

My Project: Having more boxed sets of Magic Tree House books will allow more students to expand their horizons. More children will be able to take the books home and practice their reading skills. It is so important for young readers to just keep practicing, and with the books they so enjoy, it will be awesome for them. In addition to practicing their reading skills, they can learn about different parts and times in the world, or, in this box, out of this world-the moon!

Your donation will allow my students to receive more Magic Tree House books which are written so wonderfully for young readers. My students will be able to increase their reading skills through practicing their reading. In addition, they will learn about the moon, the ice ages, Ninjas, and the Amazon. You will also help to inspire children to become lovers of books! hide»
