My Students

How can I excite my students, allow them to use their imagination,create a chance for parent involvement, develop global collaboration,and have my students learn all at the same time? Technology as a tool is the key! I deal with 21st century kids who need to be stimulated, while they are educated.

My students are wonderful!

They are a group of students of mixed races, gender, and levels of instruction. I have students who work at high levels and love a challenge, down to students who need that extra nudge. We are an elementary school in Delaware that is working hard to get our students ready for the 21st century!

My Project

My students will take pictures of themselves having fun with "Froggy" a stuffed animal. Not only will they take pictures, but they will also share their adventures on their blogs. They will also be involved in a digital story collaborative project with students in another state or country using email. The blog and email, will allow them to share with students all over the world, thereby creating a global learning environment. After collecting pictures throughout the school year, the students will create a digital story, which will then be presented to their parents on "Adventures with Froggy" Day,as well as the class we collaborate with. They will receive a copy of their stories on a disk to take home. My students will learn how to use a digital camera, upload photos to the computer, and develop communications skills using their blogs and email. Finally, they will create a digital story using Windows Moviemaker with all the bells and whistles! 21st century, here they come!

Give me a chance to stimulate, while I educate!

I want my students to realize that a pen and paper are not the only way to tell a story. I want them to use their imaginations and the cameras, and create something they can keep forever! I want them to realize that there are other people in the world who are just like them! I want their parents' or caregivers to be amazed at what their children can do, no matter what level they are designated! This project teaches skills they can always use.
