My Students

I teach middle school English in a rural district. My students get quickly tired of more traditional worksheet style lessons.

However, they thrive on opportunities to use the smart board, write on the white board, or use other less traditional methods to practice their skills in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

As middle schoolers, the more we can do to engage them in their learning, the greater the dividends we will reap throughout the remainder of their academic careers.

My Project

I have enough 8" x 12" white boards for each student to use at their desks, but I need markers, erasers, and cleaner to keep them going throughout the year. We play review games, practice grammar and punctuation, and study for vocabulary and spelling quizzes on them.

As students progress through their academic careers, their skills in language arts will have and ever increasing impact on their success in other courses.

After all, can a student really succeed in science or social studies if they lack the skills to comprehend the textbooks? Please help me motivate students to achieve their maximum potential at this crucial juncture in their academic lives. THANK YOU!!
