Rolling Out A New Lunch-Time Activities Program!

My students need some playground and P.E. equipment such as batons, a whistle, and balls.

My Students

These kids come from some pretty rough backgrounds. Our school is an at-risk, low-income school and the kids are almost exclusively minority, single-parent kids. Some even come to us from rehab centers and homeless shelters.

Our kids are actually quite well behaved in class.

Where we seem to have the most problems with these students is during recess and after-lunch time. The kids simply don't have enough to do, and so trouble ensues. We're looking to kick-off a new recess and lunch time activities program to keep these kids having fun and playing on teams during these times.

My Project

We're asking for an array of playground and P.E. equipment. We're asking for some nice, new soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, and Frisbees. We're also looking for some equipment to expand our track programs, a few new table tennis balls, and a ball retriever to help keep our tennis area neat.

This project is important in the life of these kids because they will be physically active during their recess times.

They will be playing on teams and building character instead of getting into trouble.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
