My Students

Most of our families are two-income families. Thus, most parents are unable to visit the school during the day to participate in our various activities. I would like to begin videotaping many of our activities and posting them to the web so that parents can view them from home.

Most of my parents come from families where both parents work during the day.

Very few parents are able to attend our various awards ceremonies, field trips, classroom projects, etc. I would like provide the parents with the opportunity to share in their child’s classroom via videos posted to our school’s website.

My Project

I am requesting one Flip video camera. This camera will be used to film my students various activities so that they can be posted to the web and parents can view them at home. The only piece of equipment needed is a simple video camera. I feel that this will greatly benefit both my students and their parents.

Very few of my students’ parents are able to get away from work to participate in our various classroom activities.

I think this would be a wonderful opportunity for the parents to help take an active role in their child’s education. I think it would also be nice for extended family members to be able to participate in their grandchild’s, niece’s, or nephew’s education.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
