My Students

Do you remember that one time of day where everything "clicked" for you? When all the other ways teachers tried to help you failed but that one other thing worked? Circle time tends to be that time for some kids to learn how to read. A different scenario, more game oriented and more social.

The students in my room would benefit from a wonderful circle time experience and the reading that they would learn in this set up would be phenomenal if only for the right equipment.

Some of the students I teach need that extra oomph of help at non traditional times of day and ways of teaching. Circle time seems to do it for them. Sometimes, they come to me not knowing their letters and they will never learn to read until they get that basic building block. A well equipped circle time can help those children way more than curriculum reading books.

My Project

My students need an easel that will do more than hold up a book. They need an easel that will hold big books, pocket charts, and games. They need an easel that will help me to differentiate their learning and my teaching. The easel that I have requested can do all these things and more. I believe that it would help ALL the students in my room and the students I teach during our differentiated time grade level wide. This easel will store my big books and also help to hold them up during the time that I teach, allowing me to teach rather than hold the book up. It will allow me to have a morning message each day at the carpet for all students to read and then enrich the students that are ahead by having mistakes for them to fix. It will be able to house my carpet games so they are always at the ready, and it will hold flashcards for those hard to remember sight words in it's pocket chart. This easel will help me be a better teacher as well as help my students.

This project is extremely important to both my students and myself.

I want every child to succeed and learn to read at and above grade level. I try very hard to do this each year, and I feel that with this easel, I can achieve this goal and help ALL children learn to read. This easel will also help with other subject areas. Math, Science and Grammar can also benefit from circle time. Please help us!
