My Students

"Life is short, but art is long." Your donation will allow my students to create extraordinary art in elementary school. Our school budget has lost millions of dollars in art and music education. We struggle to find paint brushes and buy paint, please help us create art from the heart.

Our Oregon school is home to 400 plus students, about 40 percent who live in poverty.

Classified as a rural school most students have never been to a museum or visited an art gallery. The funds for guest art teachers are extremely limited. Even though students have little art experience they love art and have great talent. Quality supplies will allow more of our art to be shared city wide and county wide.

My Project

I am requesting paint, block ink, brushes, drawing materials, erasers and a few art books and DVDs to immerse students in art on a regular basis. Students will also be able to read about famous artists and create their own masterpieces. The block print art will be integrated with our science study of insects.

In over twenty years of teaching I have seen the focus of education reduced to reading and math in elementary school.

Art and music are being squeezed out at an alarming rate. Young children need to dream and create beautiful art. Help us make art from the heart.
