A Room Full of Learning

My students need a place to learn, experience, and enjoy education with classroom dividers and a portable dry erase board.

My Students

It takes a village to raise a child. My students next year will vary in ages from Kindergarten to sixth grade. Their needs will be different and therefore I would like to create an environment that will educate all students from grades K-6 attending the school.

I am mainly responsible for educating students with special needs, specifically math/reading disabilities.

I will have students who remain with me for the entire school day, and I will also have students who attend a regular education classroom. I will also have students who attend a regular education classroom and will need a little extra help, whether it's reading, math, or any other subjects. The school is a wonderful school that celebrates accomplishments and differences. The Parent-Teacher Association is a strong support and strongly believes and supports the students, administration, and the teachers. The school is in an affluent, prosperous neighborhood with educated and committed community members.

My Project

Next year I will have students from grades Kindergarten to 6th grade participating in my program. That is a wide gambit of curriculum and needs. Needs vary with age and I feel that I will be able to help all of my students if I am able to provide two separate learning areas with my classroom. The classroom dividers will allow me to create a space for my younger students to have circle time, center explorations, and enjoy learning. It will also allow my older mature students to have a space to focus, organize their thoughts, and participate in mature discussions and activities appropriate to their age, without feeling like they belong to a young class. The portable easel will allow me to teach lessons on both sides of the classroom to all of my students. It will allow me to be organized, and give small group, or 1:1 instruction for my students who need direct instruction.

It brought tears to my eyes, and excitement in my heart when I found out that my first project was funded.

Education is a passion of mine, and when I see strangers and parents donate their time or funds to making schools a better place I am extremely honored and touched by their contributions. This will touch my heart as a teacher and allow me to do my job even better!!!!
